Leyton Wallpaper
This is a tutorial for the wallpaper below with the screencaps of Photoshop to see what I have done step by step for the image. Most of these steps will work in GIMP as well if you are a gimp user.
Leyton- Love Story, I normally do not art Leyton but this was a special case as it was a birthday gift for a friend.

Step 1: Choose Images
Ok this is not that hard, all my images or stock photos for this are from OTHscreecaps.com. I opened up photoshop and selected a canvas of 1024x768. I painted the first layer of the canvas black, then applied and arranged each piece on the canvas how i wanted it. To resize a photo in photoshop or gimp go to the transform tool and apply in the new dimensions. You should get something like this.

Step 2: Lighting Images
In Photosop or Gimp select the layer that you are wanting to improve, for me I selected each layer, duplicated the layer and set each duplicated layer to screen to get a bit more lighting in the pieces. There are a million different ways i get images lighter but I prefer this one. Afterwards I then merged the layers down.

Step 3: Moving Images/Blending
For the bottom picture in the corner I rotated the photo using the transform tool. There are a ton of ways to blend images in photoshop the easiest for me is to add a vector mask to each layer, once that is applied I mask out the areas I do not want with a brush, make sure your color is set to black and that you are on the masking layer when you do this effect.

Step 4: Textures and Erasing
So I searched Deviant Art and got the textures that I used in this piece, they are not my own. Open the texture and then apply the texture to your canvas. I selected a swirling brush to add a bit of a grunge feel to the piece and then erased out some of the texture to reveal the faces. There are a ton of way to do this and you can use a variety of brushes, I did the same thing with the second layer to get this.
First Texture is set to Normal Opacity and the second is set to Soft light.

Step 5: Color
I used a variety of Graients for this piece that I found from Belladonna and Deviant Art to achieve the look of the piece. I applied the first gradient, set the layer to Soft Light and done in a diamond pattern Opacity is set to 42%. The second is a top to bottom layer set to Soft Light, Opacity is set at 27%. The Third is round patter, Soft Light and set to Opacity of 65%. Play with it till you are happy with it.

Step 7: Fonts
The text in the middle is the song lyrics to Mariah Carey's Love Story, Font is Arial Narrow, size is 10 and set below the gradients, there is a shadow on the text and an outer glow, using the effects panel on the layer, the layer is set to a Soft Light effect. The words Lucas and Peyton in the right hand corner of the piece us another text layer Font is Zapifino size 48, the layer is set below the gradients, shadow and glow added in the effects panel and the layer is set to Soft Light. The lyrics in the left hand corner are the same as layer 2 only the font size was changed to 30. I really just recommend that you play with it till you are happy with it!
